i recently saw food, inc, which for me was a bit of mecca in a sense because sustainable agriculture is the thing about which i am most passionate.
while watching the movie, i was struck by how much its message reminded me of the beliefs of those involved in the English Arts and Crafts movement. these artists believed that all forms of design should be treated with the same reverence that we give fine art, and in doing so, we elevate the quality of daily life. take design out of the factory, out of the hands of big business, and restore dignity to the worker and the craftsman.
so, with that in mind, a little of the wallpaper work of william morris, the big daddy of the arts and crafts movement and personal hero of mine...
