Dearest Jess,

It's summer. For reals.

I wish you could of stayed for the whole summer solstice party. We drank wine out of a bottle and made flower crowns while smoke billowed around us in a backyard in Bushwick. Lexi strummed a guitar on a blanket in the grass and we sung along like happy dumb hippies.

Know what else I enjoy in the summer? Spider webs:

So eerie and dreamy.

While googling "spiderwebs" I stumbled upon a series of work by the artist Nina Katchadourian:

She "repaired" spiderwebs with red string, using just the stickiness of the web when it was possible, and dabbing a touch of glue if need. In her blurb about the project, she said that she had found pieces of string on the ground a day or so afterward from the spiders pulling out her repairs and replacing them with new spider webbing.

Here is the "repair kit":
Clever. What a way to spend a summer's day.

Hope you are enjoying the bottomless glasses of Micheladas in Texas. Can't wait for your return.

Hearts and stars and cupcake sprinkles,
Yasmin
